The game stayed at 1-0 for the rest of the 1st and almost all
of the 2nd period, when SBCC scored to make it 1-1, with a goal by
Ryan O’Donnell. Just 22 seconds into the
3rd period, 2nd semester addition Jon Verstegen scored an
unassisted goal to put Saddleback ahead 2-1.
Jon’s goal would stand up for the rest of the game and Saddleback completed
the sweep of their JC Division rival. Saddleback
goaltender Angel Rios was in top form, stopping 35 of 36 shots for the win.
In SBCC’s final game, they took on crosstown rival UC Santa
Barbara. SBCC fell down early in the

another in the 2nd, going into the 3rd period down by
just one goal. SBCC scored the next goal
just 1:29 into the 3rd period, tying the game. UCSB would tie it up, SBCC would add 2 more,
to take the lead at 5-4. The last 4
