ASU selects Division I and 'B' teams

ASU selected its 2010/2011 Division I team this week after tryouts at the Barney Family Sports Complex.
The Sun Devils return all seven skaters from last year's national runners-up: Dan Anderson, Derek Bolls, Alex Dodt, Brian Ganz, Will Heinze, Tyler Koressel, and Stephen Sperry. Also returning are both goaltenders from last year's squad: Clay Taylor and Stephen Back.
Two new additions to the team are forwards Keith Patterson and Michael Rivera. Patterson has played PIHA/AIHL the last few years in Arizona and Rivera is a freshman from Texas who plays NARCh with Tour Outcasts.
Earning alternate spots on the team were Nick Bazan and Andrew Dobson. Bazan played for the 'B' team the last two years and Dobson is a freshman from California. Both will skate for ASU at a few tournaments this year and will be part of the D1 program for years to come.
The Sun Devil 'B' team will look drastically different from last year's team whose only loss all season was in the Elite 8 round at nationals. The only two returning players are forward Jeff Stern and goaltender David Johnson.
Joining them to round out the roster are players from all over including Hong Kong (Michael Tanaka), New Jersey (Brian Theer), California (Jason Titchenal, Andrew Stacey, and Derek Dunbar), as well as six from Arizona (Kyle Letendre, CJ Hawley, Andrew Horine, Vince Dwyer, Allen Anderson, and Joey Reed).
