Las Vegas Inter-Regional starts in just over an hour, with Colorado State facing off against Arizona State in the first game. Follow here:

ASU leads CSU 1-0 at the end of the 1st at the Las Vegas Inter-Regional. We're just getting started out here in Sin City!

UCCS holds on to defeat in-state rival Colorado State 6-4 in the 2nd game for each team this weekend. Up next, home team UNLV's 2nd game - this time against San Jose State!

In the tightest game of the day, Arizona State squeaks by Colorado Springs, by a score of 2-1. UCCS scored first, with 3 minutes remaining in the 2nd period, but ASU went 2-for-2 on the power play in the 3rd period and netted the game-winner with 22 seconds left in the game. UCCS had a chance with 5 minutes left, as a pass came through the ASU slot but didn't connect. So far ASU is 3-0 on the day, with 1 game remaining against UNLV at 7pm. UCCS is 1-2, falling to ASU and UNLV earlier today.

Going into the 5pm game in the Las Vegas Inter-Regional, the standings are:

  • Arizona State - 3-0
  • UNLV - 2-0
  • UCCS - 1-2
  • Colorado State - 0-2
  • San Jose State - 0-2

As UNLV and Arizona State are the only undefeated teams after 3 games, the 7pm game between UNLV and ASU will be the championship, followed by the scheduled 8pm game between CSU and SJSU. If in LV, you have 20 minutes to get to the rink!!!

ASU and UNLV lined up for player introductions and the national anthem, followed by a UNLV Roller Hockey Hall of Fame presentation to UNLV's coach of several years, Curt Weiman. Just 28 seconds into the game, UNLV struck, taking a 1-goal lead. Less than 1 minute later, they netted another, to go up 2-0.

UNLV up 2-0 at the end of the 1st, with their 2 early goals being the only goals scored so far.

At the end of 2, it's UNLV 5, ASU 0. ASU pushing early in the 3rd, but the bulk of the scoring chances are for UNLV.

UNLV scores a power play goal in the 3rd and holds on to win the game, a 6-0 shutout for goaltender Terry Martin.

UNLV sends their thanks for the support last weekend

We wanted to thank everyone who came out to the event last night! Especially, the championship game against ASU. For those who couldn't make it, the Rebels (19-1) had a great showing going 4-0 and beat a very tough ASU team 6-0 in the 'ship. We're proud to say we have the best fan base and alumni out there. You really made it a special day. Thank you.
